A Pome a Day for a Year

What on earth is this flavour,
certainly not cream – though there
are distinct bubbles that I can
say the soda part is true.

The cream though? When has cream
ever been that sweet, that floaty,
cream is something you would
find on a cheesecake or a cat dish.

Maybe it was a joke or a dare?
The peeps who invented it
struggled to figure out what it was
and one prodded the other, knowingly.

“Dare you to call it cream soda!”
“What? Why?”
“It would be funny!”
“Would it?”

“Yes it would. It is not cream at all.”
“Oh, you mean in an ironic fashion?”
“No, not really. Just impish.”
“Not sure the foreman will go for it.”

“You will see, he loves a jape.”
“Not really side splitting funny though.”
“Just do it dude, you’re removing the majesty.”
And the rest is history.
