A Pome a Day for a Year

I say this, but I am being cheeky.
I am near to the age of the answer,
the ultimate answer,
that is as nonsensical as life.

However in terms of truly getting,
in terms of slotting in to this chaos
that we bandage up as best we can
as an existence,
well I am still looking for those rungs.

People who say the journey is the reward,
have never spent five hours
on a bus to Clacton,
but I will admit that this multitude years of
clasping at knowledge,
to learn and understand
why
have been simultaneously
illuminating and dimming.

Everyday a new question,
everyday a new bafflement,
and every day a creation of answers
but with no back section to look them up.
