A Pome a Day for a Year

“What’s the big idea?”
I have no idea.
There is no big idea, only small ones,
but what I would not give for a big one;
a powerful idea, something that could
level my mountains of dream and ambition.

The idea to end all ideas, something
I could cultivate and grow and tend to
like a small bed of inspiration flowers
their budding sprouts revealing
breathless interest, passion and story.

I want a big idea,
I want them to coalesce,
these small nubs of thought,
into a juggernaut of imagination.

I have mentioned in passing, the emptiness
of my orb,
that space the entity, takes up
the space the concept because it is
pure space the reality.

Fill it with wonder, fill it with just
one big idea, one towering innovation
that matters to me and my future and when
I am asked again,
I will reply with a wink and a smile.
