Eternal Voyages of the Pioneers

Published on

Only ever forever forward
passing glints of long dead life
toward an ever growing ever nothing
though being something while never stopping.

Two days to communicate
across one hundred six six
units of astronomical scope
you have done the best
for half a century with thousands to come.

Though we will eventually lose those
brief flashes of contact,
you will never stop forging,
never cease your journey
to take remnants of mankind
to the edges we can never live
to reach.

If we stop breathing, if we cease
as a collective, if we destroy ourselves,
you will be there.
You will stand upon highest pedestal,
on furthest reach,
singing the songs
of how we had the capability for harmony.

You brave voyager,
you fearless machine,
you gilded explorer,
you inspiration,
alone forever.
