Robert Cop

Published on

No metal exoskeleton, nor endo, nor
any sort of prosthetic limb made from metal,
just a fleshy squishy full of blood
dude who is a cop in Detroit
during the 80s.

Robert cop is a cop, who is called Robert
and you would think that would be enough
for his family, for whom the career
provides a comfortable life
but there is unrest within the walls
of domestic bliss.

Robert cop, the cop called Robert, has
a hankering for more, a desire to grow
beyond his human programming
of having a partner, child, house, car
and longs for more! Perhaps a body
made of alloys and a severe lack of nerves
is the way of the future? This is the 80s,
though, and technology is not as accurate
as the movies.

Robert cop, as in the Robert of the law,
simply sits in his patrol vehicle dreaming,
dreaming of a life where he is a bear,
or perhaps a locomotive,
or even a dining table,
just something tangentially skewed
as opposed to this policeman’s ball.
