I write a pome a day for a whole year, starting August 1st 2024 and upload them here at 8:10pm every day. The rules are as follows:
No longer than 20 minutes spent on each pome.
No Editing afterwards.
No backsies – when it is done it is done.
Why?
Well, I like to write.
Or rather, liked.
I still do, I just sort of stopped doing it.
Back when I was a kid I would write for hours and hours and I did not care about how it was. It gave me joy and a bit of a dream. Various events in my life occurred and they quelled a lot of the drive and desire to write. LVG read some of the stuff I had been working on before I began to fizzle out and she loved it. She wanted me to get back into the swing of it and so I came up with this low stakes juice maker.
I have never been that confident about writing pometry the way I have about prose, so there is no pressure here. I get to just blurt out silly words and rhymes and schemes which causes me to get into the zone for my actual novel stories. I feel like I found a weird sort of cheat code.
Anyway, I hope you get a semblance of smiles and laughs and thoughts from some of the ridiculous use of the English language you will find on this site.
